“Running Out of Time” 2009 Mixed Media
This painting was a part of my solo show “Whoo Knows Honey” in 2009. It sits proudly on my wall as a reminder of how far a few years can take you; both creatively and emotionally. I can remember, very clearly, working on this painting. Technically it’s not great, but it’s definitely got a moment of time bottled up in it; which is what I really strive for as an artist.

I’ve collected interesting and unusual beads for years now… I used to make necklaces and sell them at local markets and to my friends. As soon as I put pressure on myself to make them though, the joy was gone…

I’ve always loved making charm style pendants - I enjoy creating these compositions. I think of friends or family and make something with them in mind; It’s quite a loving process. I know I’m happy with the piece when I can’t imagine parting with it. These are a few ‘good luck’ charms I’ve created in the last few weeks.

They’re made to be held.

Starting from scratch…
Going to make a solid effort to maintain this blog as a creative outlet and a platform to share the stuff I make… minus the ‘pressure’ of a schmick website.
Wish me luck.
